Heritage Banners

Dundalk Tidy Towns has collaborated with the County Museum, Dundalk to develop an outdoor banner exhibition entitled "Our Local Heroes". The banners will be showcased in Park Street, Dundalk. The banners focus on people in the traditional Dundalk industries such as brewing, distilling, shoe and tobacco manufacture. The following industries are included: The Great Northern Brewery, McArdle Moore, Great Northern Railway, Heinkel, Steam Packet Company, Dundalk Port Company, Clark’s, Halliday’s, Rawson’s and Blackthorn Shoe factories, Malcolm Brown Distillery and P.J. Carroll’s. In 2023 we will be unveiling a new set of Local Hero Banners featuring more recent local legends.
